Things are getting started and winding down in ART

Advisory has worked very hard on their presentations for conferences. An email confirmation was sent out last night with your information and a link if online. Tomorrow our kids can participate in the Patton Mini Thon at the high school. I'll be chaperoning too:)

Next week the kids have 3 half days and off Thursday and Friday. Monday they will have their AM classes, Tuesday PM classes and Wednesday they see all their classes for 20 minutes each. Dismissal is at 11:10am. Happy Thanksgiving!!

6th Grade ART is coming to the end. Most are finished the crushed can project and have moved on to the last project, Illuminated Letter. Here's one of the bulletin boards outside our art rooms and the display across from the office of houses and crushed cans. And we have some action shots of the students working.

8th Grade ART is just starting up. We started with choice project last week. Most students chose clay. I have a montage of the greenware (not fired clay) drying out so we can fire them. After clay we started getting ready for our wire project while we wait for the clay. You can see the kids researching famous artists, drawing out the idea and finally putting together the wire armature.

7th Grade ART is just starting up too. Students are working hard on their 3 food drawings and even wrote an alliteration about their clay choice. They were clearly confused that we would write in art class, but writing across the curriculum is important.
