Advisory has recovered from their Thanksgiving break and is now enjoying a switch in their trimester enrichment classes. Ask your kids how they like their new classes if they started Thursday. Some may start theirs on Monday.
6th Grade trimester 1 classes ended this Wednesday and are off to their next enrichment classes. I will miss them and have encouraged them to visit:) Trimester 2 classes started Thursday. I've met with 2 of my 3 sections so far. Yesterday we introduced the course, showed examples and made a sketchbook for class. Today we learned how to roll clay out on the slab roller and use my many (lots more than many) cookie cutters to cut our cookies out. After a demonstration on how to do Colonial Slip Trailing Techniques, students will embellish theirs with at least 5 techniques they learned. Here's a photo on the started cookies.
7th Grade students have begun to build their clay food or fashion. They are mostly finished the plates and have started to build their food parts. I neglected to get some action shots!! So here is a boring shot of the wrapped up projects in the closet:( I will try to be more diligent next week. LOL.
Also... The Chester County Library in Exton has asked me to hang a student show for the month of January. I've selected mostly 6th and 7th graders because I have only had 8th grade sculpture classes so far this year. I will send out a notice to those chosen.
